Primm, NV — Hatch Racing/Answer/Pro Circuit/KTM rider Gary Sutherlin takes 4th place at the opening round of WORCS Series.
The 2020 World Off Road Championship Series round one race was held on the border of Nevada and California last month on January 24th through the 26th with round two starting this month, February 21st through the 23rd in TAFT, CA.
Sutherlin's round one performance was a good start to a season full of anticipated record highs for the pro biker.
"The first half of the race was challenging as I was struggling with arm pump and my stomach was churning from being sick" remarked Sutherlin. "After my pit at the halfway mark, I was able to get some fluids in me, my arm pump went away, and my stomach felt much better. I was finally able to charge."
Sutherlin made some much needed passes in the race moving into 6th place with 3 laps to go, and 5th place with 2 laps remaining. In the final lap, Sutherlin was able to move into 4th place to secure the top five finish at the event.
"I always want to be on the top step of the podium," said Sutherlin. "But am grateful that I was not further off considering how I felt. A top five is not the worst way to start the season, so I'll take it and move forward from here."
Sutherlin moves into NGPC Rd 2 this month in Taft, CA.
